Fear of flying (flying phobia, or aerophobia)

The fear of flying, or aerophobia, can be very restricting, not only for the sufferer themselves, but also for their friends, family, and work colleagues.  Hypnosis can help the fear of flying.

• Families can be affected when holidays overseas become impossible because one member of the family won't fly
• Distant friends can be affected because they don't see their friends who would have to fly to see them
• Work situations can be a problem where flying on business is involved.

This is a wide ranging phobia in terms of the effect that it has on people... some people, for example, might only have a fear during turbulence, while at the other end of the scale, someone might even be unable to go to the airport to pick up an arriving passenger.

People with a flying phobia, often do admit that while they know that flying is one of the safest modes of transport available, this makes no difference to them.  As a psychotherapist, I know that their fear is driven by their imagination, and reinforced by avoiding flying altogether.
